DG-Miliano Moissanite: sparkle at the top of our scale, with the T73's light
Brilliance 86 · Fire 93 · Scintillation 98 · in our census, where the T73 scores 86 · 97 · 80 in moissanite
A three-tier pavilion under a ninety-six-facet girdle, drawn for moissanite: the census rewards it with sparkle, while its light only matches the T73's.
Rendered in our 3D Gemstone Simulator from the DG-Miliano model, 1.00 ct, studio light.
DG-Miliano Moissanite
DG-Miliano sets eight stars, eight crown mains and sixteen upper girdle facets around the table. Below a thin girdle of ninety-six facets the pavilion falls in three tiers of sixteen, steepest at the girdle and shallowest at the point. The model has 177 facets and is 60.3% deep.
In moissanite it returns the T73's light, Brilliance 86 against 86. The surprise is the diamond version: the same model returns 95 there, so on light this design does better in the stone it was not drawn for.
Compared with the T73 Round Brilliant in moissanite and with the DG-Miliano in diamond.
A difference counts from 3 points (Brilliance, Fire, Tilt, Leakage), 5 (Scintillation,
Symmetry), 2 (Spread) or 5% (weight); Tilt counts as a pro only for a stone within
5 points of the brilliance it is compared with. How we measure.

Scintillation 98 against 80 for the T73 Round Brilliant in moissanite: 18 points higher
Scintillation in our census grows with the number of facets light can flash from. With 177, DG-Miliano reaches 98, against 80 for the T73's 73. Two other cuts on our moissanite pages tie it: DG-Vitruvio and the Portuguese Bird's Nest.
Scintillation follows the number of facets: more facets, more and smaller flashes as the stone moves. Count the facets in each crown. Drawn from each cut's own model.
Fire 93 against 82 for the DG-Miliano in diamond: 11 points higher
This gain is the stone's, not the design's. In moissanite DG-Miliano trails the T73 for fire, 93 against 97; the pro counts because its gap to diamond is the larger one.

Look at the coloured flashes: those are fire. Same light, same size, same face-up angle; rendered by our 3D Gemstone Simulator from each cut's own model.
Brilliance 86 against 95 for the DG-Miliano in diamond: 9 points lower
The comparison here is with the same model in diamond; in moissanite it returns 86, level with the T73. Its measured pavilion figure, 38.3°, sits under moissanite's 39.5° guide minimum for rounds; we have not measured a steeper version, so we cannot say whether one would help.

Red, green and blue = light returning to the eye; grey = light leaving through the pavilion. This is the head-on view; the Brilliance score averages a wider cone of light, so the score can differ from what one picture shows.
Leakage 8 against 3 for the DG-Miliano in diamond: 5 points higher
8% of the light in our census leaves through the pavilion, against 3% for the diamond version and 7% for the T73 in moissanite.

Each frame is the Light Return map with the stone tilted away from you by the angle shown; grey is light leaving through the pavilion. The share under each frame is that picture's own.
DG-Miliano suits someone who wants the busiest sparkle we measure in a round moissanite, without giving up light against the T73. It also keeps a touch more light when tipped, 95 against 94, too small a gap for us to count.
If light comes first, choose DG-M5 Moissanite. If you will cut it in diamond, the design does better there; the DG-Miliano page shows both stones.
DG-Miliano Moissanite: questions
Is DG-Miliano good for moissanite?
For sparkle, yes: Scintillation 98. Its light equals the T73's in moissanite (86) and its fire is 93.
Does DG-Miliano sparkle more than a round brilliant?
In our census it does: 98 against 80 for the T73, from 177 facets against 73.
DG-Miliano or DG-Vitruvio in moissanite?
They tie on light (86 against 86) and on sparkle. DG-Vitruvio has more fire, 97 against 93.
What does a 6.5 mm DG-Miliano moissanite weigh?
About 0.94 ct, where diamond would give 1.03 ct.
