T105 Round Brilliant Moissanite
The T105 keeps the T57's main angles and divides the plan more finely: eight star halves on the crown, three rows of lower halves on the pavilion where the T57 has one, and eight pavilion star halves at the girdle. There is no girdle band: the crown runs straight into the pavilion. The model has 105 facets, a 40.75° pavilion and a depth of 59.3%.
In moissanite it matches the T73 on light, 86 against 86, and on fire. The extra facets buy sparkle. Against the diamond T105 it gives up light and lets more out of the back, and against the T73 it keeps slightly less when tipped.
T105 round moissanite: good choice or not? Pros and cons
Compared with the T73 Round Brilliant in moissanite and with the T105 Round Brilliant in diamond.
A difference counts from 3 points (Brilliance, Fire, Tilt, Leakage), 5 (Scintillation,
Symmetry), 2 (Spread) or 5% (weight); Tilt counts as a pro only for a stone within
5 points of the brilliance it is compared with. How we measure.
All eight scores against the T73
At a glance: the T105 Round Brilliant in moissanite (white) against the T73 Round Brilliant in moissanite (dashed): solid white where
it reaches further, hatched where it falls short. Each pro and con is explained, with pictures, below.

Fire 97 against 77 for the T105 Round Brilliant in diamond: 20 points higher
Diamond gives this plan 77, moissanite 97. The facets did not change between the two renders; the dispersion did, from 0.044 to 0.104.

T105 Round Brilliant in diamond · Fire 77
Look at the coloured flashes: those are fire. Same light, same size, same face-up angle; rendered by our 3D Gemstone Simulator from each cut's own model.
Scintillation follows the number of facets: more facets, more and smaller flashes as the stone moves. Count the facets in each crown. Drawn from each cut's own model.
Brilliance 86 against 95 for the T105 Round Brilliant in diamond: 9 points lower
The angles are the classic diamond set, and diamond returns 95 through them. Moissanite bends light more strongly, and part of it misses the eye. Against the T73 in moissanite the T105 is level.

T105 Round Brilliant in diamond · Brilliance 95
Red, green and blue = light returning to the eye; grey = light leaving through the pavilion. This is the head-on view; the Brilliance score averages a wider cone of light, so the score can differ from what one picture shows.
Leakage 6 against 1 for the T105 Round Brilliant in diamond: 5 points higher
In diamond this cut leaks almost nothing, 1%. In moissanite 6% leaves through the pavilion, still the third lowest of the cuts we sell in this stone.

Each frame is the Light Return map with the stone tilted away from you by the angle shown; grey is light leaving through the pavilion. The share under each frame is that picture's own.
What helps: Size does not change the share, and at 40.75° the pavilion already clears the 39.5° guide minimum, so a steeper one is not the remedy. DG-M5 leaks 1%.
Tilt 91 against 94 for the T73 Round Brilliant in moissanite: 3 points lower
Tipped by 20°, the T105 holds 91 of its face-up light, where the T73 holds 94. It is the only score on which the T73 is ahead.

Tilt is how much of its own face-up light a stone keeps when tilted. Each frame is the Light Return map with the stone tilted away from you by the angle shown; grey is light leaving through the pavilion. The share under each frame is that picture's own.
What helps:DG-Miliano Moissanite keeps 95 when tipped, at the same brilliance, 86, and sparkles more.
The T105 suits a round moissanite where you want more sparkle than the T73 gives without losing light: level on brilliance and fire, ahead on scintillation.
Its knife edge needs protecting in a setting; for a girdle a setter can seat, choose the T73 Round Brilliant Moissanite.
