A manufactured product is a gem held together by glass or resin. It is made from badly fractured rough, or from many small pieces bound into one.
In more detail
LMHC wording names it, for example, 'ruby with glass' or 'emerald with resin'. If the glass or resin is altered, the stone may fall into pieces. Heat and chemicals can damage it, so remove it from the setting before jewelry repair.
