An indented natural is a part of the rough diamond's original surface that dips below the polished surface.
In more detail
A natural stays at or above the polished surface, so GIA counts it as a blemish. An indented natural reaches into the stone, so GIA counts it as an inclusion.
On a grading report
Drawn in red and green together on the clarity plot of a full GIA report. A Dossier has no plot but can name it in its list of up to four.
