# Putting the four Cs together

Lesson quiz · five questions, in a new order every time

Five questions on lesson 8 of The four Cs. The questions and the answers to pick from come in a new order every time you start.

Pick an answer, and the question marks itself. For a question that you answer in your own words, think of your answer first. Then show our answer and say whether you had it. Nothing is saved or sent.

1. Question 1: Which one probably looks better face up?
  ### Show the answer
**b**: Cut decides how the face handles light, and the Poor stone is even smaller.
2. Question 2: A buyer wants a bigger stone for the same budget. Which step down usually costs the least in looks?
  ### Show the answer
**b**: Near-colorless grades look white face up; a weaker cut changes the whole face.
3. Question 3: Why can a 0.99 ct stone be a smart buy?
  ### Show our answer
It's 0.02 mm narrower than a 1.00 ct, and nobody can see that. Its price is usually much lower than the round number.
4. Question 4: Under warm home light, the color difference between a G and a K gets smaller. Does the cut difference between Excellent and Good get smaller too?
  ### Show our answer
No. Warm light tints both stones the same way; the leakage and the pattern stay.
5. Question 5: True or false: a Z color is a bad diamond.
  ### Show our answer
False — it has a visible tint; some people choose exactly that.
