# Who is this stone? Number, shape, measurements

Lesson quiz · five questions, in a new order every time

Five questions on lesson 2 of Reading a grading report. The questions and the answers to pick from come in a new order every time you start.

Pick an answer, and the question marks itself. For a question that you answer in your own words, think of your answer first. Then show our answer and say whether you had it. Nothing is saved or sent.

1. Question 1: A report gives "6.42 – 6.47 × 3.99 mm". What kind of shape is it?
  ### Show the answer
**a**: Two diameters and a depth: the round format.
2. Question 2: To how many decimals does a GIA report give the carat weight?
  ### Show the answer
**a**: Weighed to five decimals, reported to two.
3. Question 3: Which inscription does every lab-grown diamond graded by IGI carry?
  ### Show the answer
**b**: Automatically, for every lab-grown stone IGI grades.
4. Question 4: A 1.00 ct stone measures 6.67 mm, but its report says 6.48 mm. What can you conclude?
  ### Show our answer
The report doesn't belong to that stone. The stone may be a different material or cut, and a lab can confirm which.
5. Question 5: Name three ways to check that a GIA report is genuine and matches the stone.
  ### Show our answer
Any three of: the girdle inscription, Report Check or the QR code, the security features on the paper, matching the measurements and weight.
