# Table size: is a bigger window brighter?

Lesson quiz · five questions, in a new order every time

Five questions on lesson 3 of Anatomy of a diamond. The questions and the answers to pick from come in a new order every time you start.

Pick an answer, and the question marks itself. For a question that you answer in your own words, think of your answer first. Then show our answer and say whether you had it. Nothing is saved or sent.

1. Question 1: You make the table larger and keep the crown angle the same. What happens to the crown height?
  ### Show the answer
**b**: The crown ring gets narrower, so at the same slope it's lower.
2. Question 2: What is GIA's Excellent range for table size on its own?
  ### Show the answer
**b**: But the combination with the crown and pavilion can still lower the grade.
3. Question 3: True or false: a bigger table always makes a diamond brighter.
  ### Show our answer
False — light has to come back out; in our traced brilliance at the T73's angles a bigger table returns slightly less.
4. Question 4: A 62% table with the T73's angles grades Very Good. What could you change to make it Excellent?
  ### Show our answer
  A steeper pavilion, 41.0 to 41.6° (with a crown of 33.0 to 35.0°).
5. Question 5: Why is the table measured as a percentage and not in millimeters?
  ### Show our answer
So it means the same at any size (lesson 2).
