# Rose cut

Also called rose

A rose cut is a dome of triangular facets on a flat base: all crown and no pavilion.

## In more detail

It spread from the middle of the 1500s. It suited flat rough and lost little weight. Light leaves at the same angle it enters, so the colors recombine: a rose shows almost no fire.
