# Pear cut

Also called pear, pear shape

A pear cut is a brilliant with one rounded end and one point, halfway between an oval and a marquise.

## In more detail

Many pears show a bow-tie. GIA's pear guide says it gets darker as the difference between length and width grows. Our Pear design needs a 13.8° spread of pavilion angles around its outline.

## On a grading report

No GIA cut grade; measurements as length × width × depth.
